We decided to test out the boy on New Year's Eve and see how long he would last on our party schedule. Turns out Jack really does want to go to sleep on time and in his own bed once in a while.
We started the night off at our friends Veronica & Mark's place. Jack got to see the last sunset of 2008 and play with the other kids while Chris and I enjoyed fantastic roast pork leg and chirimoya punch - yum.
Jack was fast asleep by the time we got to the next party so we thought we'd stay an hour and then go home and put him to bed - nothin' doin'. He woke up within 20 minutes and boy was he mad. Lesson learned - took him home right away and put him to bed. He slept great the rest of the night, though, and Chris and I were able to go over to a friend's house with the monitor and enjoy a glass of champagne at midnight and watch the fireworks over the beach.
It's been a wonderful year for us - lots of changes and plenty of time visiting friends and family. We wish everyone a joyful 2009 with lots of surprises!
